New York State Approved Evaluation & Provider

South Shore Center for Speech, Language and Swallowing Disorders, LLP is a New York State approved multidisciplinary evaluation and provider site and under contract with Suffolk County. All evaluations and services are provided at no cost to families and are based on the individual needs of the preschool child as determined by the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), of your local school district. 

Your local school district will determine the location where recommended special education services will be provided. The Committee on Preschool Special Education Program (CPSE), is for children who have or are suspected of having a disability under Section 4410 of Article 89 of the Education Law and funded by the NY State Education Department and Suffolk County Department of Health. 

Should your child be found eligible for services, South Shore Center for Speech, Language, and Swallowing Disorders, LLP can provide those services in our office, at your home, child’s preschool, and/or other approved location.

What You Can Expect 

As a provider of services, our goal is to provide experiences that enable a child to learn and develop to his/her greatest potential so that he/she can cooperate with teachers and other children in the least restrictive school environment. 

Our philosophy is to provide a rich environment where children can develop healthy physical, emotional, and intellectual capacities. We believe children are unique and extremely perceptive, absorbing the world as young individuals. Hence, our therapists individualize therapy by selecting materials based on the child’s interests and skill levels to direct their learning and build a foundation that lasts a lifetime. 

Families are an integral part of the learning process. They are involved in the child’s structured therapies to facilitate growth in all developmental areas.
